Healthy and DELICIOUS Snacks!

Finding things to eat that are healthy and tasty always used to seem much more difficult to me than it actually is. I used to be one of those girls that most girls would hate because I would come home from school and eat a can of Pringles, some ice cream, etc. I would eat candy bars for lunch…you name it! I never gained any weight. Granted, I was very active with sports and dancing. However, I eventually had to wake up and realize that even if I wasn’t gaining weight..I was still hurting my body. I really only started to change my own eating habits about a year and a half ago. And since then, I have discovered tons of tasty snacks that are actually good for you. Here are some snacks that I eat very often in order to maintain my weight AND my health. If you’re wanting to be healthier or drop some weight…or even maintain your healthy weight…try eating some of these:

Apples with peanut butter. This is a favorite of mine. Granted, I LOVE peanut butter. I use the Skippy reduced fat chunky peanut butter-it’s awesome!

I also love rice cakes with peanut butter. I just get the plain, unsalted rice cakes. The peanut butter has enough flavor on its own to make up for it.

I LOVE Kashi granola bars. My favorite kind is the Cherry Dark Chocolate-I seriously eat these every day!

Yogurt is also a good choice. I eat the Dannon Light and Fit yogurt because it is fat free and only has 60 calories. Cherry Vanilla is my favorite flavor!

Whole wheat pita bread with hummus is SOOO good. If you haven’t had hummus-you need to try it! I usually get the most spicy kind that I can find.

Other snacks I eat are Kashi crackers, grapes, bananas, avocados, etc. Any kind of fruit or veggie makes for a great snack that is healthy. Nuts are also amazing and for breakfast-I usually have a packet of Apples & Cinnamon oatmeal.

If you girls start snacking like this through out the day, your body will thank you!

    yum!! lol i would go upstairs and have some apples with peanut butter right now but yesterday i was at my friends house and i ran into the couch and stubbed my toe really bad so then i had to call my parents and have them take me to the hospital and it turns out that i have a fracture in my toe and i can hardly walk now…the doctor said it should be better in a few days as long as i dont put too much weight on it and i get alot of rest and all that stuff but its hard just sitting around!! its BORING!!! and i had to leave a sleepover because of it!!! and it hurts really bad too lol…im using crutches right now but i dont have too…and im worried about school…how am i supposed to walk around? im not gonna bring these crutches to school!!! lol ok sorry im WAY off topic here

  • ooh, I would show off a bit about having crutches! get a bit of attention! trust me, its cool, im on them coz i broke my ankle! tho its annoying trying to go up and down stairs!
