Dancing With The Stars: Week 4 Recap

April 8th, 2014

The stars have been dancing their hearts out (and their feet off!) with pro dancers on national television for almost a month now. The much anticipated (and dreaded!) SWITCH-UP finally got here, and it was intense to say the least! Some contestants were happy with their new dancing partners while others were somewhat horrified! Let’s see how everyone did below, and who their new partners are!

Meryl Davis and Val Chmerkovskiy danced a tango for a score of 39 out of 40

Nene Leakes and Derek Hough danced jazz to Beyoncé’s “Grown Woman” for 32 of 40

Cody Simpson and Sharna Burgess danced the foxtrot (and sang!) for 31 of 40

Amy Purdy and Mark Ballas danced salsa for 34 out of 40

Charlie White and Peta Murgatroyd danced the rumba for 34 of 40

Danica McKenna and Maks Chmerkovskiy danced jive for 32 of 40

Drew Carey and Witney Carson danced the cha cha for 33 of 40

James Maslow and Cheryl Burke danced a tango for 35 of 40

Candace Cameron Bure and Tony Dovolani danced the quickstep for 28 of 40

That puts Meryl in the lead and Candace in last place for this episode! We can’t wait to see how next week turns out when the stars go back to their original dance partners, and see who gets the axe next.

What did you think about the switches on this week’s episode of DWTS? Who was your favorite?

GLEE: New New York Episode Recap

April 3rd, 2014

STOP! If you haven’t already watched the latest episode of Fox’s “Glee” then you shouldn’t read on! We don’t want to spoil anything for you, after all! If you did already see the awesomeness that was “New New York,” then you can relive the excitement with us below in our “Glee” recap!

First, let’s talk about how we fast forwarded from graduation at McKinley all the way to the winter in New York City! We can’t believe we missed the gang moving in to the city and the first few months of them living together! Still, this episode was one of the best and we’re really excited to see how everything in the Big Apple plays out.

Santana (Naya Rivera) isn’t in this episode, as she’s on vacation with Brittany (Heather Morris) still, but the rest of the gang is there. It seems like everyone is having the best time ever without a single hitch to be had! Rachel (Lea Michele) even has her own “Funny Girl” town car to escort her where she wants to go! Watch below and she sings “Downtown” and enjoys the city life!

Then things start to get tricky! Artie (Kevin McHale) and Sam (Chord Overstreet) don’t fit in Rachel‘s new town car because of Artie‘s wheelchair, so they get left out when hanging out with their friends. That makes them a little upset, but what pushes Artie over the edge is when he is taking the subway and gets robbed! Rachel tries to relate to Artie‘s encounter with her own silly story but that just makes Artie more mad, so he lashes out at Rachel saying she just isn’t herself anymore. This makes Rachel reflect on what really matters, and she decides he’s right and gives up the town car.

Later, Artie is scared to go back in the subway and still mad at Rachel, so Rachel promises him that she will take the subway with him every single day so that he isn’t alone, and so that they can overcome the fears of the city together. They sing a great song with the people on the platform! Then they catch the guy who robbed Artie and Artie gets his stuff back!

Meanwhile, Sam is in a slump without any modeling jobs lined up and doesn’t want to even leave the couch (where he’s been crashing with Kurt, Blaine and Rachel for months). Blaine (Darren Criss) forces Sam to get up and get out of the apartment, and they sing in Times Square together. This cheers Sam up and he’s suddenly inspired to get a new hair cut, get a modeling job and move out of the apartment. Watch them sing below!

Kurt (Chris Colfer) is happy to hear Sam is moving out, as he feels like Sam is always around, but he’s also feeling like he and Blaine are spending way too much time together. They get in a big fight and decide it’s best if Blaine moves out! Don’t worry, they’re still together though!

Sam decides he doesn’t like living with models and has no idea where he’s going to live next, so he and Blaine decide they’ll look for an apartment together. At dinner, a surprise guest enters the apartment- Mercedes (Amber Riley)! She decided to move to New York to work on her next album, and she just happens to have enough room in her new home for a couple of roommates- Sam and Blaine!

We can’t wait to see what happens on “Glee” next week, now that almost the whole gang is back together and living their dreams in New York City! So much fun!

Did you watch “Glee” this week? What did you think of the episode “New New York”?

Dancing With The Stars Season 18: Week 3 Recap

April 2nd, 2014

This week on “Dancing With The Stars” Season 18, it was “The Most Memorable Year of Your Life” Night, and “Good Morning America” star Robin Roberts was a guest judge! The night was full of surprises, as no one was eliminated during the evening’s dances. Instead, Billy Dee Williams gracefully bowed out of the competition because of chronic back pain making him unable to dance any longer. Still, here are the scores from the evening’s dancers!

The top score for the evening could be a 40, so it looks a little different than the normal score of Top 30. Here’s what the stars and their dancing partners for the week got!

Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 39/40

James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd: 36/40

Danica McKellar and Valentin Chmerkovskiy: 36/40

Charlie White and Sharna Burgess: 36/40

Cody Simpson and Witney Carson: 35/40

Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas: 32/40

Nene Leaks and Tony Dovolani: 31/40

Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke: 30/40

“Harry Potter” Spinoff: “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”

April 1st, 2014

Yippee! We are so excited to hear that the “Harry Potter” spinoff, “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them,” is going to be turned in to not one, not two, but THREE movies! This adaption of the Hogwarts Textbook (and the book’s fictitious author, Newt Scamander) will be released by Warner Bros. as the next big trilogy! It will begin in New York about 70 years before Harry Potter even comes along!

“Potter” author J.K. Rowling is really excited about the new adventure too! She shared,

“It all started when Warner Bros. came to me with the suggestion of turning “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” into a film. I thought it was a fun idea, but the idea of seeing Newt Scamander, the supposed author of Fantastic Beasts, realized by another writer was difficult. Having lived for so long in my fictional universe, I feel very protective of it and I already knew a lot about Newt. As hard-core Harry Potter fans will know, I liked him so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite characters from the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood. As I considered Warners’ proposal, an idea took shape that I couldn’t dislodge. That is how I ended up pitching my own idea for a film to Warner Bros. Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for 17 years, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, 70 years before Harry’s gets underway. I particularly want to thank Kevin Tsujihara of Warner Bros. for his support in this project, which would not have happened without him. I always said that I would only revisit the wizarding world if I had an idea that I was really excited about and this is it.”

We cannot wait to hear more about this new adventure! As soon as we learn more about the movies, we will be sure to share with you guys!
Are you excited to hear about a movie trilogy for “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”? Do you think you’ll like it as much as the “Harry Potter” franchise?
