Our Five Fave Albums of 2014

December 29th, 2014

5-fave-albums-2014

With the end of the year fast approaching, we thought it would be a good idea to look at it and recap our favorite things from the last 365 days. Today we will talk about our five fave albums that came from 2014! There truly were a ton of really great hits, but these 5 are the ones that we kept playing on repeat on our iPods. Did your favorite album of 2014 make our list? Check below!

Ariana-Grande-Unveils-My-Everything-Album-Cover

#5. Ariana Grande’s “My Everything”

Ariana‘s latest album was released this past August and had such hits on it as “Problem”
featuring Iggy Azalea and “Best Mistake” featuring Ariana‘s boyfriend Big Sean. We loved hearing every new single that came from it on the radio and couldn’t wait to buy it when it was released!

5sosalbum

#4. 5 Seconds of Summer’s “5 Seconds of Summer”

The self titled debut album from 5SOS was incredible! Housing songs like “Amnesia,” “She Looks So Perfect,” and “Good Girls” it is one powerhouse of an album. We are pretty sure that in addition to making our top five fave albums of the year list, 5SOS is our favorite new band of 2014!

One-Direction-Four-Album-Cover

#3. One Direction’s “Four”

The newest 1D album may have only come out last month, but it totally makes our list for top five fave albums of the year. With songs like “Steal My Girl” and “18″ (written by Ed Sheeran), who could blame us for putting it on our list?

x

#2. Ed Sheeran’s “X”

“X” also known as “Multiply” came out this past June and still has us singing nonstop! It’s easy to see why it was chosen as one of the Grammy nominees for “Album of the Year”!

taylor-swift-1989-cover

#1. Taylor Swift’s “1989″

You probably already guessed that Taylor Swift would make our top five, but congrats if you knew it would be our number one! We are totally obsessed with her newest album and think it’s such fun to listen to. We really admire how she took a step out of her element and made an all pop album because it totally worked for her. You rock, Taylor!

What do you think of our picks for 5 best albums of the year? What would your five faves be?

R5′s New Music Video For “Smile”

December 26th, 2014

R5 Smile

We’ve been following R5‘s Twitter account for the last week waiting for “Smile” to be officially released to music video. We were so hyped when it was finally announced, but it kind of got lost in the Christmas shuffle! Now that the holiday is over, we are ready to go back to listening to regular non-festive tunes, and “Smile” is the perfect one to start with! The video is super fun and funny, just like all of R5‘s videos are. It’s also mega cool since it is shot in a kind of backwards way. You’ll see what we mean if you watch it below!

&nsbsp;

Want to sing along? Here are the lyrics to “Smile!”

“Smile”

Today I feel like running naked through your street
To get your attention
(To get your attention)
Whoa-oh-oh
(Whoa-oh-oh)
I broke up with my girl so tell me where to meet
Oh, did I mention?
(Oh, did I mention?)
Whoa-oh-oh
(Whoa-oh-oh)

I dream on, dream about you
What can I do to make you feel all right?
Baby I don’t want to see you cry, no-oh

I want to see you smile
I want to see you smile

Today I feel like blowing all my cash on you
I’d buy you anything
(I’d buy you anything)
Until I’m broke
(Until I’m broke broke)
Today I want to turn your skies from gray to blue
And if it rains on you
I’ll be your coat
Whoa-oh-oh

I dream on, dream about you
What can I do to make you feel all right?
Baby, I don’t want to see you cry, no-oh

I want to see you smile
I want to see you smile

Let me take your picture, baby
I’ll save it for a rainy day
I don’t need much
I guess I’m just old fashioned in that way
So on the count of three, let’s see you
1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3!

Smile
(I wanna make you smile yeah oh oh)
I wanna see you smile (oh yeah)
I wanna see you smile

It’s the things you do
I wanna make you smile

What did you think of R5‘s video for “Smile”? Do you think it’s catchy too?

New “Holiday Song” by the McClain’s!

December 23rd, 2014

mcclain sisters

Talented sisters China Anne, Lauryn and Sierra McClain have come together to sing a brand new amazing Christmas song! It is simply titled “The Holiday Song” and is just in time for the holidays! You can listen to it on Spotify and sing along with the lyrics we have posted below! Enjoy!

Take a look around you
Tell me what do you see?
The lights are a little brighter
Is that snow on the tree?
You can feel that holiday spirit
No matter what you believe
Take the hand of whoever’s closest
And repeat after me

Love is in the air
Snowflakes in my hair
Every time of year
I wish every day was a holiday
Nothing else matters we
I feel the joy and peace
In these memories
I wish every day was a holiday

It’s the time of year when
Every smile is bright
Good spirit’s in everybody
Every thing just feels right
There’s joy in all the laughter
Sparkle in every eye
So come just a little closer
Let’s leave all our troubles behind

Love is in the air
Snowflakes in my hair
Every time of year
I wish every day was a holiday
Nothing else matters we
I feel the joy and peace
In these memories
I wish every day was a holiday

Clap your hands and do your dance
Feel the magic every where
As it falls from the sky
(Ooo ooo ooo ooo)
Oh what can peace and love bring I?
Three hundred sixty five
I wish it felt like this all the time

Love is in the air
Snowflakes in my hair
Every time of year
I wish every day was a holiday
Nothing else matters we
I feel the joy and peace
In these memories
I wish every day was a holiday

It’s the time of year when
Every smile is bright
Good spirit’s in everybody
Every thing just feels right

If you’ve listened to “The Holiday Song,” what did you think about it? Do you totally love it too?

Olly Murs Sings “UP” featuring Demi Lovato

December 20th, 2014

Olly-Murs-Demi-Lovato-Up

Olly Murs recently released a brand new album titled “Wrapped Up” on October 7th and it’s really catchy! He just got together with Demi Lovato for an acoustic jam session of his song “Up” and it is totally amazing! It’s like the song was meant for the duo. Watch Olly and Demi sing together below!

Here are the lyrics, in case you want to sing along too!

“Up”

I drew a broken heart
Right on your window pane
Waited for your reply
Here in the pouring rain
Just breathe against the glass
Leave me some kind of sign
I know the hurt won’t pause, yeah
Just tell me it’s not the end of the line
Just tell me it’s not the end of the line

I never meant to break your heart
I won’t let this plane go down
I never meant to make you cry
I’ll do what it takes to make this fly
You gotta hold on
Hold on to what you’re feeling
That feeling is the best thing
The best thing, alright
I’m gonna place my bet on us
I know this love is heading in the same direction
That’s up

You drew a question mark
But you know what I want
I wanna turn the clock, yeah
Right back to where it was
So let’s build a bridge, yeah
From your side to mine
I’ll be the one to cross over
Just tell me it’s not the end of the line
Just tell me it’s not the end of the line

I never meant to break your heart
I won’t let this plane go down
I never meant to make you cry
I’ll do what it takes to make this fly
You gotta hold on
Hold on to what you’re feeling
That feeling is the best thing
The best thing, alright
I’m gonna place my bet on us
I know this love is heading in the same direction
That’s up

Girl, I know we could climb back to where we were then
Feel it here in my heart
Put my heart in your hand
Well, I hope and I pray that you do understand
If you did, all you have to say is
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I’m waiting for you
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I never meant to break your heart
I won’t let this plane go down (let this plane go down)
I never meant to make you cry
I’ll do what it takes to make this fly
You gotta hold on
Hold on to what you’re feeling
That feeling is the best thing
The best thing, alright
I’m gonna place my bet on us
I know this love is heading in the same direction
That’s up

What do you think about Olly Murs and Demi Lovato‘s collaboration for “Up”? What other songs do you think they should sing together?
