Gretchen is a German girl who is spending a year in the United States as part of a student exchange program. She is very self-conscious about her accent, but everyone around her thinks it’s really cute. She was her school’s best English student at home, and she knows the language so well that she was recently picked to play the lead in her school’s annual Shakespeare play.
