Saving Process for Doll Makers

INSTRUCTIONS:

There is no specific size for the doll, but make sure the size of the doll fits a 1024 x 768 screen resolution (example 700 by 300 pixels).

SAVING THE DOLLS ONE AT A TIME:

Using photoshop go to file and select save for web.

Save the doll and the clothing in a folder (rename the folder with the doll's name) in this order.

First save the doll as a .gif file with white matting and check the transparency box (see image below).
Name the doll as dollz1.gif

Now save the clothing and the accessories in this order. Save the "tops" clothing as .gif files with no matting (see image below) and name them as dollz2.gif, dollz3.gif, and so on and so forth.

Do the same process with "bottom" clothing, "dresses" (if applicable), "shoes" and "accessories" and save the images in this particular order.

OTHER WAYS TO SAVE:

Another way to save the clothing and accessories images is by using a Gray Matte ( I usually use hex #999999 ). Just click on the Matte color box and select that color. This would make the edges of your images look smoother but when the clothes overlap you'll notice the gray matter around the images. So cleaning them in Photoshop may actually help.

I also came up with the reverse process which is painting in the gray matting on the .gif images that are saved with no matte. This is a more complicated and time consuming process but can sometimes end up with the best result. To do this, open your .gif images in Photoshop. Select the pencil tool with 1 pixel and a gray color ( #999999 ). Just dot around the edges to smoothen it out. Use your better judgement when doing this proceedure.

CLEANING THE .GIF IMAGES:

Open your .gif images in Photoshop. Erase any dirt or unwanted pixels. When finished press CTRL + S to save.

We are currently not accepting fan art dolls due to double work load. Check back soon! :)
